OUR

HISTORY

Bosque & Ciudad was founded over a decade ago with a clear conviction: nature is not an obstacle to urban development — it is its greatest ally.

Its founders, forest engineers passionate about arboriculture and urban sustainability, identified a transformative opportunity: to elevate the standard of urban tree management in Colombia by integrating technical expertise, safety, and scientific knowledge into every intervention. From the beginning, they understood that caring for an urban tree is not merely a maintenance task — it is an act of ecological planning, an investment in the future of our cities, and a commitment to respecting the life that surrounds us.

Built on these principles, Bosque & Ciudad has grown into a benchmark in Nature-Based Solutions for urban and peri-urban environments. Today, every project we undertake — from technical pruning to the rescue of a century-old tree within an infrastructure project — reflects that philosophy: to intervene with precision, preserve with sound judgment, and build cities where trees not only survive, but thrive.

Because when nature thrives, cities do too. And that has been our purpose since day one.

Over the years, our way of working — rigorous, collaborative, and always impact-driven — has led us to build partnerships with leading companies, government entities, international organizations, and local communities. These are not ordinary commercial relationships; they are networks of shared action, united by the conviction that Nature-Based Solutions are the most intelligent, resilient, and long-lasting response to the challenges our cities face.

These collaborations have allowed us to scale our impact far beyond a single intervention or contract. Today, we are actively involved in discussions on urban tree public policy, technical standards in arboriculture, and ecological restoration in Colombia’s strategic ecosystems. Each partnership adds a new dimension to what we can deliver — and to what we can transform.

Bosque & Ciudad continues to evolve because the challenges are evolving as well. Climate change is putting increasing pressure on our cities, urban biodiversity is declining, and green infrastructure remains insufficient across most territories. In response, we do not limit ourselves to diagnosis — we act, we train, we design, and we implement. Every project, every training program, and every consultancy we undertake is part of something greater: a model of city where nature does not simply decorate the edges, but shapes the core.

We believe this future is possible. And we have been building it for over a decade, tree by tree.

At Bosque & Ciudad, we operate under a circular economy approach, repurposing the plant waste generated from our activities and transforming it into valuable compost for urban and peri-urban soils. This practice not only reduces environmental impact but also contributes to mitigating the effects of climate change. Additionally, our projects are designed to help cities adapt to these challenges by creating sustainable solutions that enhance urban resilience and promote healthier, more livable environments for present and future generations.

Corporate Responsibility

At Bosque & Ciudad, our social, environmental, and corporate responsibility is deeply embedded in all our operations. Our sustainability-driven approach ensures that every project contributes not only to business success but also to community well-being and the preservation of the natural environment. This commitment aligns us with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), promoting responsible resource management, environmental stewardship, and the continuous improvement of quality of life in the urban and peri-urban areas where we operate.

Safety
Culture

At Bosque & Ciudad, safety is not just a priority—it is a fundamental pillar. Every urban tree intervention follows strict protocols to protect both workers and the environment. We believe that a safe operation is key to ensuring the quality of our services, which is why we continuously invest in training, specialized equipment, and compliance with international standards. Our safety culture defines us and positions us as a benchmark in the industry.

Forest Management Projects

Protecting the Future of Forests

At Bosque & Ciudad, we develop projects focused on sustainable forest management, working closely with local communities that rely on forests as a source of income. Our approach is based on the transfer of advanced technology and the strengthening of community capacities, providing them with the necessary tools to manage forest resources safely, efficiently, and in an environmentally responsible manner. Through workshops, training, and the use of cutting-edge equipment, we help improve forest utilization techniques with a low-impact approach, ensuring long-term sustainability. Additionally, our projects contribute to biodiversity conservation, the management of both timber and non-timber products, and workplace safety in forestry activities, fostering the economic and social development of local communities.
